Mis- v. Phil- anthropy

So, I’ve decided that the names for these posts have been a little generic. At first I was using them to keep them in line with what they really are, but now I’ve seen that WordPress has this nice category feature which seems as though it will accomplish the same task.

It’s amazing how a purely mental duality of perspective, such as the balance between a philanthropic fascination and a misanthropic tendency, can be accurately represented in a simple physical action. I wear glasses. While sitting along in a large, partially crowded, room I sway towards on of two habits. I either don my glasses for the purpose of interested peering at those around me, or, I hastily remove them to behave my thoughts quieted band soothed by the plunge into an surrounding of abstract shapes and sounds. herein lies a possible internal concern: if I choose the latter option for internal reasons such as peace of mind, then I am a clear-minded, calm, and balanced person; if I do so for external reasons such as out of annoyance, then I fall under the banner of one who is passively aggressive and antisocial. The relief comes through the fact that there is a balance between these motivators; sometimes one, other times the alternative.
